Join the Department of Political Science, the School of Public and International Affairs and the University Honors Program for the 2025 American Ideals Lecture, which will explore the complex and pressing threats to American democracy under President Donald Trump's administration in 2025. Guest lecturer Benjamin Wittes will unpack how these challenges are reshaping freedoms and democratic norms in the United States today.

Wittes is editor-in-chief of Lawfare and a senior fellow in governance studies at the Brookings Institution, where he is the research director in public law and co-director of the Harvard Law School-Brookings Project on Law and Security.
