The 22nd Annual Paul Zia Distinguished Lecture will focus on Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. You can attend the lecture at Stewart Theatre at Talley Student Union or watch an online interactive livestream. This annual lecture honors Professor Emeritus Paul Zia, former professor and department head for NC State’s Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering and a structural engineer who is eminent in research, professional society leadership and practice.

Presenters include Ellen Spangler, senior project manager at Mortenson Construction, and Frank Freudenberger, structural engineer and an associate principal at the Arup Los Angeles office. The speakers will present on various design and construction aspects of the 1.75 million-square-foot, 65,000-seat domed Allegiant Stadium, home to the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders. The stadium features one of the largest cable-net roofing structures in North America — the first constructed in the U.S.

Registration will open in mid-August. For more details, visit the lecture website
