Join Multicultural Student Affairs for a screening of the impactful film 36 Seconds: Portrait of a Hate Crime. The film delves into the aftermath of the Feb. 10, 2015, shooting deaths of Muslim-Americans Deah Barakat, his wife, Yusor Abu-Salha, and Yusor Abu-Salha's sister, Razan Abu-Salha, at their Chapel Hill apartment complex. Barakat and Yusor Abu-Salha earned bachelor's degrees at NC State in 2013 and 2014, respectively. Razan Abu-Salha was a sophomore at the university at the time of her death.

Following the screening, a thought-provoking panel discussion will unfold with filmmaker Tarek Albaba, academics, community leaders and historians. Together, we will explore Islamophobia, focusing on the lived experiences and perspectives of the Muslim community in both North Carolina and the broader United States.
