About this Event
Please join the Department of History at the third annual Legal History Lecture. This public event is part of the department’s legal history programming and honors the memory of Jonathan Ocko, who served as head of the history department and was a department faculty member. Ocko was also a Chinese legal historian.
This event will feature Marcus Gadson, a UNC-Chapel Hill School of Law associate professor and a Harvard Law graduate who is a leading authority on state constitutions. He has published work in top-tier journals, including the New York University, Michigan and Georgetown law reviews. Gadson is the author of Sedition: How America’s Constitutional Order Emerged From Violent Crisis. Previously, he practiced at Steptoe & Johnson and clerked for Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Bernice Donald.
