Explore the art, life, and meaning behind Shakespeare's 154 sonnets. Read aloud, learn about his life, and gain a deeper appreciation.

Whether you are just Shakespeare-curious or a seasoned pro, this workshop puts the art and soul of Shakespeare’s clearest works on the examination table.

Learn what was happening in the life and times of Shakespeare that inspired the creation of the 154 sonnets that bear his name.

Engage in the fun of imagining if the “I” of the sonnets is actually Shakespeare talking about himself, and if so, he could be telling us the story of his life during those years.

Try your hand at reading sonnets aloud under the careful direction of the Workshop Instructor.

Understand how Shakespeare’s singular, unique use of our language plays a central role in the stories of the sonnets.

Participants take away a deeper knowledge and appreciation of Shakespeare and his work, and an awareness of why these short, 14-line poems are fundamental to understanding the great plays of the Complete Works.
