About this Event
1017 Main Campus Dr, Raleigh, NC
Join the Data Science Academy as it explores AI in the Movies, not as a central theme, but as a catalyst for examining its impact on imagination and creativity. We will delve into how artificial intelligence has altered the landscape of writing, creativity and intellectual property rights, prompting considerations on ethical collaboration with AI, particularly within the context of science fiction's ability to probe emerging technological and societal dilemmas.
The guest speaker will be Timothy L. Humphrey, IBM's chief analytics officer and the senior state executive for IBM in North Carolina. Humphrey is also the senior location executive for IBM in the Research Triangle Park. Ray Levy, executive director of the Data Science Academy, will moderate the discussion.
This discussion is part of the monthly AI @ NC State Hot Topics Series hosted by the Data Science Academy at NC State University on Centennial Campus. The series is an opportunity for people curious about AI to network with experts, scholars and practitioners. A small group from industry and academia explores a new topic in AI research, ethics and practice at each forum. Through these conversations, we envision new opportunities to build industry-academia-government partnerships, collaborations and communities.
