About this Event
1017 Main Campus Dr, Raleigh, NC
The current workforce building artificial intelligence is not diverse by many metrics. Why is diversity important? What practices help build effective diverse teams? How can you help build and sustain elements of diversity in AI planning, development, training, testing, policymaking and regulation? Ray Levy, executive director of the Data Science Academy, will moderate a discussion about Diversity and AI. The panelists will be:
Timothy L. Humphrey, chief analytics officer, North Carolina senior state executive and the Research Triangle Park senior site executive for IBM.
Sheri Schwab, vice provost for institutional equity and diversity and the Title IX and ADA coordinator at NC State.
This forum is part of the Data Science Academy's AI @ NC State Hot Topic series, an opportunity for people curious about AI to network with experts, scholars and practitioners. A small group from industry and academia will explore a new topic in AI research, ethics and practice at each forum. Through these conversations, we will envision new opportunities to build industry-academia-government partnerships, collaborations and communities.
This interdisciplinary event may appeal to all from many different colleges and departments. We welcome and encourage the industry to support their speakers. Free parking will be available to the first five industry supporters who register to attend. Registration is not required but strongly encouraged.
