About this Event

Network with us and explore ideas such as: Are there different kinds of intelligence? What values do we encode when we decide whether a chatbot sounds intelligent? What are public concepts and misconceptions about machine intelligence? How might concepts of intelligence in artificial intelligence impact our work and our society?
The Data Science Academy will try to get answers to those questions during one of its AI @ NC State Hot Topic sessions. The guest speakers will be Brad Abrams, partner product manager at Microsoft, and Adam Suarez, Ph.D., director of engineering at FlightAware.
The Data Science Academy's AI @ NC State Hot Topic series is an opportunity for people curious about AI to network with experts, scholars and practitioners. A small group from industry and academia will explore a new topic in AI research, ethics and practice at each forum. Through these conversations, we will envision new opportunities to build industry-academia-government partnerships, collaborations and communities.
Light breakfast refreshments will be available. Registration is not required to attend but is strongly recommended.
