About this Event
2221 Stinson Drive, Raleigh, NC
Please join the College of Design for the Harwell Hamilton Harris Lecture featuring David Benjamin, founding principal of The Living. This lecture is part of the fall 2022 architecture lecture series.
Benjamin is an associate professor at the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. He also directs the Columbia GSAPP Incubator. Benjamin’s work combines research and practice, and it involves exploring new ideas through prototyping. Focusing on the intersection of biology, computation and design, Benjamin has articulated three frameworks for harnessing living organisms for architecture: bioprocessing, bio-sensing and bio-manufacturing.
