Please join us for an Art + Design lecture featuring Ivy Nicole-Jonét, a documentarian, animator, experimental filmmaker and Afrofuturist. This lecture is part of a Department of Art + Design lecture series.

Nicole-Jonét's early artistic work grew out of her first-hand experience seeing gentrification and eminent domain used to disrupt, disregard and displace Black communities in Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia. Nicole-Jonét delved into documentary filming and animation as a medium for expression, preservation and documentation and was inspired to record and render narratives that have been silenced or disregarded.
