View map Free Event Add to calendar

Artist-in-residence Clarence Heyward will work alongside participants to assemble collages based on the African American Cultural Center’s Martin Luther King Jr. and Black History Month programming. Participants will focus on the future they hope for or changes they would like to see. No prior art experience is necessary; all materials will be provided. The workshop is available to current NC State students only. Space is limited.

Heyward is a Brooklyn-born painter and collagist whose work explores notions of the Black American experience. Heyward is participating in a one-week intensive artist residency on campus coordinated by Arts NC State.
