https://arts.ncsu.edu/art-and-your-major/Arts and Your Major, a series of programming presented by the Arts Village, Arts NC State and the NC State University Libraries, explores how the arts overlap and enhance careers and studies in science, technology, engineering and math.
Join us for a discussion about artificial intelligence with Arnav Jhala, an associate professor of computer science at NC State. Recent advances in AI technology, particularly in the areas of language processing and computer vision, are changing the way artistic content is created. In this discussion, participants will debate some of the questions raised by AI models in the realm of art. Do we see AI as another tool for artistic expression or as a competitor to human creativity? If AI models are used in the process of creation, how is ownership determined? How is the contribution of training data determined?
