In this yearly tradition, talented NC State students will perform scenes and excerpts from books that have been banned and challenged. Come share our love of the right to read and the freedom found in books.

In 2023, the American Library Association documented 4,240 unique book titles targeted for censorship — a 65% increase over the previous year. Public libraries have been impacted with a 92% increase in targeted titles.

Students will read excerpts from select books in an evening of live staged readings. This program is a collaboration between NC State University Libraries and University Theatre.
