In 1972, a young NC State School of Design (now College of Design) graduate, Charles Moretz, left Raleigh and moved to New York City to pursue a career as a photographer. At the time, two of the largest buildings in the world were being constructed in lower Manhattan – the twin towers of the World Trade Center – and these majestic structures became his muse. This exhibition features Moretz’s unprecedented photos of the towers and includes the work of sculptor Ann Cowperthwaite and mixed media artist Carol Fountain Nix.

The Crafts Center will be open daily during the run of the exhibition but will be closed for fall break Oct. 2-5.
