Join the African American Cultural Center for a panel discussion that will center chronic illness, disability, love and support systems within the Black community through the lens of Kennedy Ryan's book Reel. Destinee Wormack, a counseling and counselor education doctoral student, will facilitate the discussion. The panelists will be:

  • Dr. Courtney Hinton, interim medical director at Campus Health
  • Janelle Johnson, a Ph.D. candidate in educational equity
  • Jenn Wilder, executive director at Campus Health
  • Marshaun Jackson, assistant director of the Disability Resource Office

You can attend the panel discussion in person at the African American Cultural Center or via Zoom. The hybrid event is great for:

  • Students or professionals with chronic illnesses looking for community or support
  • Anyone interested in public health, pre-med tracks, or Black community and culture in general
  • Book lovers, fans of Ryan and regular visitors of the African American Cultural Center
