Are you interested in connecting with fellow women colleagues at NC State but have limited time? If so, join the Council on the Status of Women’s Non-Book Book Club. The Non-Book Book Club will provide a low-risk, low-entry opportunity for women professionals to gather, reflect and learn about a topic of interest. The club is open to all NC State faculty and staff.

The club will meet virtually May 13, and the meeting topic will be "Intersectionality, Microaggressions and Emotional Eating." Participants will engage in a discussion about gender and race and how microaggressions can impact the emotional well-being of young Black women. In advance of the session, we encourage participants to read this article"Gendered Racial Microaggressions and Emotional Eating for Black Young Adult Women: The Mediating Roles of Superwoman Schema and Self-Compassion." Be ready to discuss the article with other NC State faculty and Staff.

If you have questions about the club, please send an email to councilonstatusofwomen@ncsu.edu.
