In celebration of the 50th anniversary of NC State’s Department of Communication, join the department for the Alumni Media Arts Showcase, which will feature a panel of alumni discussing their experiences in film, television and digital media. The showcase will also be an opportunity for students to engage with the alumni as they share their creative and technical expertise. Here are the panelists:

  • Paul Bonesteel ’87 is an independent documentary filmmaker and founder of Bonesteel Films in Asheville. He is the director of The George Masa Story, The Mystery of George Masa and other acclaimed historical films.
  • Davy Nethercutt ’91 is a visual effects supervisor with over 25 years in film and television. Nethercutt's credits include Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, X-Men and numerous commercial projects.
  • Tim Kiernan ’02 is a creative director at 521 Studios. Kiernan leads a multidisciplinary team that develops branded content and storytelling for corporate and nonprofit clients across the Southeast.
  • Daniel Gallagher '13 is a character artist and animator whose credits include Fox Sports and FX's Legion. Gallagher is known for blending visual storytelling and digital design in large-scale productions.
  • Mattison Domke-Latz '20, a multimedia strategist at the NC State University Libraries, focuses on content development, digital communications and public engagement through creative media.
