The Developing Cultural Competence student certificate program provides a theoretical framework for understanding culture, learning about cultural dimensions and improving cultural competency. In four weeks, students build an international network while studying global cultures. The certificate program appeals to students in all academic disciplines and prepares students to:

  • Develop an understanding of their cultural context.
  • Promote cultural awareness in personal and professional settings.
  • Practice communication skills and implement strategies for working effectively across cultural differences.

The fall 2021 virtual exchange experience will bring North Carolina students together with those at our global partner universities. You can register for one of our six fall sessions, each of which will take place over a four-week period. The four-week course includes independent learning, personal reflection and a group presentation component with weekly facilitated discussions.
