Join the African American Cultural Center (AACC) for the EQUIP orientation and to learn how this year-long initiative can help you create the college experience you want in and outside of the classroom. EQUIP stands for Empower, Question, Understand, Initiate and Partner. The initiative is designed to help first-year students:

• Empower themselves to create the college experience they want
• Question everything to build habits for life-long learning
• Understand themselves and what they need to be successful
• Initiate action and be proactive to find resources
• Partner with others to build a network of care and community

As an EQUIP participant, you will:

• Engage in monthly check-ins with a dedicated staff member
• Attend learning labs and AACC signature events
• Work with an embedded AACC counselor
• Attend EQUIP special programs
• Develop skills in self-awareness, resilience and help-seeking

EQUIP supports first-year students at NC State in cultivating self-awareness, community and resilience through AACC signature events, wellness activities and proactive campus resource engagement.

Registration is required. Contact Andaiye Qaasim, assistant director of the AACC, at aaqaasim@ncsu.edu if you have questions.
