The library at the African American Cultural Center invites you to participate in its fall book club. The club will discuss Black Disability Politics by Sami Schalk. Schalk's research uncovers the overlooked history of Black disability politics since the 1970s by drawing on archives from groups such as the Black Panther Party and the National Black Women’s Health Project.

The club will meet three times, including for a fun, creative and reflective final activity. All sessions will be available in person at the center's library in Witherspoon Student Center and via Zoom.

Registration is required. The first 20 people to sign up for the book club will receive a free copy of the book and a reading kit.

The club is great for undergraduate and graduate students and faculty and staff interested in disability studies, Africana studies, health and medicine, U.S. history and learning new things. Feel free to tell others about the club.
