Please join NC State University Libraries for Femme Beat-Making Night, an opportunity to create beats and explore music by women and nonbinary artists.

Femme Beat-Making Night is an inclusive event series centering women and nonbinary folks. It is part of the Femme Space series, which aims to better serve and reach students and community members by devoting time and space that prioritizes equity and inclusion through regularly scheduled gaming sessions, technology and media showcases and designated making opportunities. Femme Space events aim to reinforce the prioritization of equity and inclusion in spaces and disciplines that have been historically inaccessible, unavailable and/or not welcoming to all. These events are inspired by the concept of “generous exclusion” as written about by Priya Parker in The Art of Gathering. “Diversity is a potentiality that needs to be activated …," Parker wrote. "Generous exclusion is bounding a gathering to allow the diversity in it to be heightened and sharpened, rather than a diluted hodgepodge of people."
