What do Elvis Presley’s guitar and the Shroud of Turin have in common? Find out at a free film screening of Mana – beyond belief, a feature-length documentary film. Roger Manley, former director of the Gregg Museum of Art &Design at NC State, will introduce the film. A Q&A session will follow the film screening.

Manley, co-director of MANA, and filmmaker Peter Friedman traveled the world seeking examples of mana, the Polynesian word for the invisible energy exuded by precious things and sacred places. Shot on five continents and juxtaposing power objects ranging from lowrider cars and nuclear reactors to Burmese temples and giant tunas, Mana – beyond belief takes you on a journey into the heart of things from sacred to the absurd.
