This summer, the Gregg Museum of Art & Design will screen three films that are relevant to objects in the museum's diverse and extensive permanent collection. The final film is To Be or Not To Be, a 1942 Ernst Lubitsch-directed comedy. The film follows a troupe of actors in Nazi-occupied Warsaw who use disguises and acting skills to fool the occupying troops. Sadly, the film was released one month after lead actress Carole Lombard died in a plane crash. A portrait of Lombard that photographer Robert Coburn shot as a publicity image for the film is part of the Gregg's permanent collection.
