Green Zone Military Ally Training

The process of transitioning from the military to civilian life can pose challenges for military veterans and their families. At NC State, nearly 750 faculty, staff and students have received training to help serve this population of students and their families. The faculty, staff and students are considered allies, and they help student veterans by providing a sympathetic ear and referring them to appropriate on-campus resources. If you would like to join them, please sign up for a Green Zone training class. The training provides:

  • An understanding of the military experience and the emotional cycle of deployment.
  • An understanding of the potential issues facing undergraduate and graduate student veterans as they transition from the military to our campus.
  • An awareness of the resources available to student veterans and their families on and off our campus.

Participants who complete the training will receive a sign to display in their office and have their name listed on our website as having completed the training.
