Increases in computing speed and storage have made possible the implementation of many recent advancements in data science and artificial intelligence. How is artificial intelligence driving changes in high-performance computing? What are the implications for research and training? The Data Science Academy will host a discussion about the effect AI is having on high-performance computing. The speakers will be:

  • Kevin Barker, chief scientist at Pacific Northwest Laboratory.
  • Michela Becchi, associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NC State.
  • Pramod Singh, chief analytics officer and vice president of data sciences and analytics at Envestnet I Yodlee.

This forum is part of the Data Science Academy's AI @ NC State Hot Topic series, an opportunity for people curious about AI to network with experts, scholars and practitioners. A small group from industry and academia will explore a new topic in AI research, ethics and practice at each forum. Through these conversations, we will envision new opportunities to build industry-academia-government partnerships, collaborations and communities.

Light breakfast refreshments will be available. Registration is not required to attend but is strongly recommended.
