About this Event
2221 Hillsborough St., Raleigh, NC 27695
The School of Public and International Affairs will host guest speaker Frances Lee, a professor of politics and public affairs at Princeton University. Lee will discuss how the COVID-19 pandemic led to the greatest mobilization of emergency powers ever. In April 2020, half the world’s population — 3.9 billion people — lived under quarantine. The devastating pandemic and the policies adopted in response to it upended life as we knew it. Lee, the co-author of In Covid's Wake: How Our Politics Failed Us, will examine the role politics played in our responses and how our leaders and institutions could have performed better.
