Ina Cariño, an alumnus of the MFA Program at NC State, will read original poetry. Cariño is a 2022 Whiting Award winner for poetry. Cariño's work has appeared in the American Poetry Review, the Margins, Guernica, Poetry Northwest, Poetry Magazine, the Paris Review Daily, Waxwing, the New England Review and elsewhere. She is a Kundiman fellow and is the winner of the 2021 Alice James Award for Feast, which Alice James Books published in March. In 2021, Cariño was one of four winners of the 92Y Discovery Poetry Contest. In 2019, Cariño founded a poetry reading series called Indigena Collective, a platform that centers marginalized creatives in North Carolina and beyond.
