To complement his Sharing Spaces exhibition at the Gregg Museum of Art & Design, artist Eric Serritella will demonstrate the Gong-fu (sometimes called Kung-fu) method of brewing tea in the museum lobby. He prepares Oolong tea the way it is customarily brewed in southern China and Taiwan, in small Yixing teapots with multiple tea bowls and vessels. Like a wine tasting, participants will use their senses, including seeing, smelling and tasting, during the demonstration. Serritella also will discuss Yixing teapot history and its influence on his work.
