About this Event

https://jcra.ncsu.edu/events/details.php?ID=3771Grafting is the most reliable way to propagate Japanese maples while retaining their unique ornamental characteristics. You can learn how to graft Japanese maples during a workshop at the JC Raulston Arboretum. Jennifer Tucker, a professional plant propagator, will demonstrate grafting techniques during the workshop and individually assist each participant as they graft their own plants. Whether you're brand-new to grafting or looking for a deeper understanding and more practice with your technique, this workshop is perfect for everyone interested in propagating their own trees.
JCRA staff will collect scion wood before the workshop. The workshop's fee covers all needed supplies except a grafting knife unless paid for at the time of registration. Each participant will graft a minimum of five Japanese maples and will need a sharp, quality grafting knife. If you do not own a grafting knife, please select a registration option that includes one.
