The NC State Jazz Ensemble I, under the direction of Dave Albert and Wes Parker,  director of Jazz Studies, presents its fall concert B^3, featuring music with ties to Boston, the Berklee College of Music and Buddy Rich. Several of the tunes were written or arranged by jazz musicians who played in Buddy Rich’s band over the years, like John La Barbera and Bob Mintzer, or were recorded by Rich. The Jazz Ensemble I big band will perform Thelonious Monk’s Straight No Chaser and Billy Strayhorn’s Lush Life among others.
