Please join us at the Jonathan Ocko Memorial Lecture, a public event to announce our new legal history concentration and to honor the memory of Dr. Jonathan Ocko, the History Department’s former Chair, faculty member and Chinese legal historian. The event will feature Dr. Mae Ngai,  Lung Family Professor of Asian American Studies and Professor of History, Columbia University. Dr. Ngai is a prominent historian of immigration, citizenship, nationalism and the Chinese diaspora, and her lecture is titled "The Chinese Question: Diasporic Histories and the Global Politics of Race."
