About this Event
1020 Main Campus Dr., Raleigh, NC 27695
What began as posting sewing projects on YouTube evolved into a multi-platform business built on digital sewing patterns, online education and brand partnerships. In this talk, Kiana Bonollo '21, a content creator and patternmaker, will discuss how she identified a gap in the market, listened to her audience and turned technical design skills into scalable digital products.
She will explore how social media has transformed entrepreneurship in the fashion industry: lowering marketing barriers, creating direct access to consumers and opening new career paths beyond traditional corporate roles. Students will learn how to think strategically about social platforms, whether as influencers, entrepreneurs or designers building their own brands.
The event is free but has limited capacity. Registration is required. NC State students and employees have priority registration (open now!). Registration will be open to the public on April 13 if spots remain.
