Pedro graduated from the School of Architecture UNAM in 1998 and received a Masters in Sustainable Development from UNLÁ-FLACAM, Argentina in 2007. His thesis was focused on xeriscaping for Ciudad Universitaria. Camarena founded LAAP, landscape architecture workshop at different scales in 2008 and has participated in national and international conferences on green and blue infrastructure, mobility, restoration and landscape archaeology, sustainable landscape and xeriscaping around the world, including: UPenn, Turenscape Academy, Peking University, Tongi University, Shanghai, China, USA and Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies, Harvard, Mexico, FLACAM, La Plata, and Argentina.
