Please join the Department of Media Arts, Design and Technology and the Doctor of Design program for a lecture by Curry Hackett.

Hackett is a transdisciplinary designer working at the intersection of Black southern cultures, geography and ecology. Bloomberg, Metropolis, The Washington Post, Travel Noire and others have featured Hackett's work. His ongoing research project, Drylongso, explores the relationships between Blackness and land. Currently, Curry is studying urban design at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. You can find him on Instagram. As described by Bloomberg in 2023, "Curry Hackett works with artificial intelligence tools to create scenes from an Afrofuturist alternative history and “imagine a world that centers Blackness.”
