Join Making Space for a talk featuring NC State alum, sneakerhead and amateur DJ Aaron Dial. Dial will discuss the connections between sneakers as material objects and Black bodies. Using retro sneakers, Dial also will explain sneakerhead culture's sporting and societal cultural impacts.

Dial, a postdoctoral researcher at Purdue University, earned his doctorate at NC State in the Communication, Rhetoric and Digital Media program.

A workshop for NC State students will follow the talk. If you are interested in participating in that workshop, which will be about cleaning sneakers, go to REPORTER to register.

Making Space is an NC State University Libraries event series that features underrepresented groups in science and technology.
