National Chemistry Week is a public awareness campaign that promotes the value of chemistry in everyday life. American Chemical Society members and chemistry enthusiasts will celebrate by coordinating events and communicating the importance of chemistry. This year, NCW is Oct. 17–23, and the theme for the week is “Fast or Slow…Chemistry Makes It Go.”

The Chemistry Graduate Student Association will hold a daylong event at the end of National Chemistry Week to celebrate chemistry and educate elementary-aged students and their families. The event will include various hands-on activities and chemistry demonstrations, as well as a small fundraiser with a Periodic Table of Cookies.
