 es Initiative (PSI) for an opening reception to celebrate artist Leah Sobs
 ey's work and hear from graduate students about their research and involve
 ment during Sobsey's residency at NC State.\n\nNC PSI and the Gregg Museum
  collaborated on an artist residency and creative exchange with Sobsey dur
 ing the fall 2025 semester. Sobsey worked with graduate researchers from N
 .C. PSI to create new artworks that are on display in the Plant Sciences B
 uilding's lobby. Her cyanotypes are on display in In Search of Thoreau's F
 lowers\, which is at the Gregg Museum until Jan. 31\, 2026.\n\nSobsey is a
 n image maker\, associate professor of photography\, curator and director 
 of the Gatewood Gallery at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
  Sobsey's multidisciplinary photographic practice reaches into science\, d
 esign\, installation and textile. Her photo-based work explores the natura
 l world through archives and taxonomies with an experimental and materials
 -based approach to photography.\n\nSpecial thanks to N.C. PSI and the Offi
 ce of University Interdisciplinary Programs for their support. This event
