With so many international artists on NC State LIVE’s stage this season, it was important to us to celebrate acclaimed North Carolina-based artists like Gaspard Louis. The former Pilobolus dancer turned choreographer and educator based in Durham, creates visually stunning dance works for his company Gaspard & Dancers.

With his mission to inspire people of all ages through movement, we’ve co-commissioned Gaspard to create a new work with renowned choreographer Doug Varone. Both artists are known for their playful physicality and athletic partnering. Gaspard has a particular knack for creating movement that can be enjoyed by folks new to dance and by dance aficionados alike.
