In this exhibition, photographer Stephen Althouse showcases powerful and startling images of age-old agricultural implements, providing a visual language used to comment on the human condition. Althouse photographed manmade objects, cloth, tools and simple farm machinery with large format film cameras and highly specialized printing and development processes. He recorded exquisite detail and rich tones in prints so large (up to 9 feet wide) that they command a sculptural presence.
