On Oct. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon, the Olds Centennial Programming Committee will host History Harvest at the school to connect with alumni, collect historical documents, get input from stakeholders about the exhibit and programming and spread the word about the April 2027 centennial celebration. At this event, we will scan and document historical materials that people bring and have hands-on activities, including a historical timeline and postcard project for people to share their memories of Olds Elementary. Please bring any historical memorabilia you have of Olds Elementary and come share your memories of the school.
Ainsley Powell, curator of collections for the Raleigh Museum, will be at the event to answer questions about the kinds of materials the museum collects and best practices for preserving your own personal collections.
If you can't attend History Harvest but have a connection to Olds Elementary, fill out the database form to share your experiences and learn more about the centennial programming.
