Award-winning poet and essayist Yerra Sugarman will read from her most recent collection of poetry, Aunt Bird, a lyrical meditation on longing, mourning and remembering in response to the trauma and erasure of genocide. Aunt Bird won the American Book Fest 2022 Best Books Award in General Poetry and was a finalist for the National Jewish Book Award in Poetry and the New England Poetry Club's Motton Book Prize.  

This event is co-sponsored by the interdisciplinary program in Jewish Studies and Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies. It serves to mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day at NC State.
