Prescription Drug Take Back

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is a safe, convenient and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs at locations throughout the country. The University Police Department will serve as a collection site. This is a no-questions-asked event where we want people to feel safe dropping off items. You must wear a face covering when you drop off prescription drugs at UPD. We will not accept liquids, including creams or lotions, needles or other objects with sharp edges or points. We will only take pills or patches.

In October 2019, 882,919 pounds or almost 442 tons of unused or expired prescription medications and vape devices were collected nationwide during Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Since the fall of 2010,  nearly 12.7 million pounds of medications have been collected.
