DESCRIPTION:The Pack Survivor Support Alliance series is a continuing educa
 tion and engagement program for NC State faculty and staff. PSSA provides 
 participants with ongoing opportunities to learn advocacy skills and suppo
 rt student survivors of interpersonal violence\, including sexual assault 
 and harassment\, dating and domestic violence and stalking.\n\nParticipati
 on in PSSA requires the completion of four workshops and participation in 
 IPV prevention education and response events and workshops hosted by the N
 C State Women’s Center.\n\nThe third workshop in the series provides fac
 ulty and staff with a deeper dive into understanding the impacts trauma ca
 n have on students’ physical\, emotional and psychological well-being. T
 his workshop will cover the neurobiology of trauma\, trauma responses and 
 stages of recovery for survivors of IPV. Using these concepts\, faculty an
 d staff will explore what it means to create a “trauma-informed practice
 ” and how to implement these strategies in their individual relationship
 s with students and coworkers and in their departments.
