Carl Young, associate professor of English language arts education at NC State, will lead a discussion about These Violent Delights, a New York Times bestseller by author Chloe Gong. The book is a reimagining of Romeo and Juliet set in 1920s Shanghai. "Gong brings a high literary style and Shakespearean inspiration to a wholly unique world,” according to Booklist.

The book discussion is part of Read Smart, a collaboration between the NC State University Libraries and Wake County Public Libraries.
