Throughout April, the Women’s Center will have a Denim Day–themed installation in the Talley Student Union lobby gallery as part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This installation uses denim as a visual symbol of solidarity with survivors and challenges harmful myths and victim-blaming narratives. Visitors can engage with the display as an educational and reflective experience, learning about the history of Denim Day, the impact of sexual violence and ways to support survivors on campus. The installation will offer a consistent awareness-raising presence in one of the university’s most visible community spaces.
