Join NC State LIVE for the Songs and Stories of Home showcase and music jam on Sept. 28 from 6:30-9 p.m. at the Witherspoon Student Center in the Washington Sankofa room. This event is part of a week-long residency with folk duo Hank & Pattie and the Icelandic band Brek. The performers will also participate in a discussion hosted by the University Honors Program at 4:30 p.m. in the cinema at the Witherspoon Student Center.

The Songs and Stories of Home event is for students from around the world and across the country to come together to share memories of home through songs, stories and food. Hank & Pattie and Brek will start off the night with a brief performance and a discussion on the connection between folk music and the concept of home.

Individual students or student groups can perform and/or present a piece of art during the event. A jam session will follow, and anyone attending can participate.

Free food will be provided. We would greatly appreciate your input on what dishes to include.
