Urinetown, the Musical is an irreverently humorous satire set in a Gotham-like city in the midst of a terrible water shortage which has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. Citizens must use public amenities regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity’s most basic needs ... the right to pee. The citizens have had enough when a hero comes along and plans a revolution.
