Stop by the Chancellor's Reception Room at the Park Alumni Center to celebrate the opening of "Wisława Szymborska: 30 Years After the Nobel Prize" Digital Exposition! 

 

Wisława Szymborska mesmerized her readers with poetry that captivates the mind and captures the heart. She was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature on December 7, 1996 in Stockholm. The official opening of the exhibition will include remarks from the Office of Global Engagement, Honorary Consul, and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Washington, D.C. 

 

The ceremony will also include hors d'oeuvres and refreshments, a short lecture on poetry in Central and Eastern Europe, and a conversation with Professor Michal Rusinek from Jagellonian University, Krakow, Poland and the President of Wisława Szymborska Foundation. Rusinek was also the personal secretary of Szymborska and will reminisce on the Nobel Prize acceptance in 1996.
