Join clinical social workers and therapists Syd Seifert and Rousz DeLuca for a brown bag lunch workshop on trauma-sensitive teaching. If you would like to have lunch during the workshop, bring it with you. The workshop will include discussions about the following topics:

  • Embodied practices such as grounding or breathing techniques.

  • Psychological perspectives on trauma as it relates to the classroom and university environments.

  • Trigger warnings for traumatic class material.

  • Microaggressions.

  • Advice and university guidelines on hugging students, etc.

You can attend the workshop at Withers Hall or via Zoom, but please register to let us know if you will attend in person or virtually. 

The workshop sponsor is the NC State University Department of World Languages and Cultures Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee.
